UNLV, Ohio University

Anyone have any input on either of these programs?

My D is a BA in Dance at OU. They offer a BFA, a BA, and three different minors. They also offer a BFA through their Honors Tutorial Program. They are heavily modern dance focused. While they offer ballet classes they do not offer point courses and a student who has taken ballet from a young age may find there isn’t much to challenge them. Beyond that my D enjoys the program. Her goal was never really to dance as a profession but to study Physical therapy. In that light OU has served her very well. They have a SHAPe clinic on campus in the dance building which acts as a “training facility” for all of the arts majors. She has two roommates who are BFA dance majors and they have more rigorous dance schedules. I’ll have to ask her if she knows the career outcomes of graduating students.

The campus itself is beautiful and it has kind of quintessential college feel with a laid back attitude. Good luck and I’d be glad to answer other questions to the best of my ability.

Thanks so much. I noticed they offered a lot in the field of somatics which is an interest of my D
