Unofficial Transcript Trick

Oh man. I’m getting jealous of you guys. Have your messages changed on your freshman application page?

No @Yvask95 I would love an email to make it official though, so that I can tell my parents and have a rather long conversation. :stuck_out_tongue:

@Yvask95‌ when did they ask you to send a copy of O and A level certificates? I got that email in early Feb.

OOS applicant, transcript hasn’t loaded yet. Bummer… :frowning:

is anyone with a 2200+ SAT score still waiting for their unofficial transcript to load up?

what were your O Level/A Level grades @aerospace15‌ and @Yvask95‌?

@aerospace15 Yeah in Feb they asked me to send them via email. They said since I was different academically I had to send it. They don’t ask for transcripts and stuff as I’m pretty sure you know. I sent it via email and they said they received it. But after that they’ve been silent…

@‌Kai407

O levels:
Maths, Pure Maths, English- A*
Physics and Accounting- A
Bengali- B
ICT- C

A levels:
Maths and Pure Maths- A
Physics- C

SAT: 1650, 1760, 1860, 1870. Superscore 1920. Math 700. Reading 530(max 580), Writing 640(Essay 8)

What about you guys? I have no excuse for my SAT. I should have taken it more seriously.

11 O Levels:

4As
5Bs
2Cs
(aprox 3.75ish UW GPA if you convert)

AS Levels: BCCC
A Level predicted: BBB
(aprox 3.9 W GPA)

UW gave an option to Intl students to send scores, so i did anyway:
ACT: 25 Comp; Math - 28; English/Writing - 25; Reading - 25; Science - 23; Writing - 10

a few very good ECs that included interning at banks and playing sports at the international level (U19), and very good essays (according to my Ivy bound peers)

Oh just a heads up. I’m not international. I’m considered out-of-state because I’m American.

And as for EC’s:
Drummer in a band 3.5-4 years
Vocalist in a band 1 year
Played golf and tennis at a local community club 4-5 years. For fun, never any tournaments.
Played football in and out of school 4-5 years. For fun, never any tournaments.

@Kai407‌ I’m not sure what conversion method you used to estimate your gpa o.O
My O level estimated gpa is 3.57 and my A level estimated gpa is 4.33

Can someone explain these levels to me sorry lol

a few students who applied from my school have already received their unofficial transcripts, and they applied sometime when i did. I don’t see why UW would delay just my unofficial transcript like that. Rejected, or postponed at best :)>-

@cwordsworth12‌ It’s just the education system we followed :stuck_out_tongue:
I followed the British education system, EDEXCEL where our high school consists of final exams O Levels and A levels. O Levels being grade 10, and A levels being grade 11-12. Our A levels are equivalent to first year University in America. We get tons of credits if we receive excellent marks. For example, my excellent track record in Mathematics my entire high school life means I can skip most, if not all, of first year mathematics courses.

@Yvask95‌ I used the former Cambridge International Examination (CIE) methodology that i found on The Student Room (English version of CC). CIE took it down the internet a while back cause it created a bit of controversy i think because obviously there’s no exact conversion.

@cwordsworth12‌ These ‘levels’ are from the British secondary education system, used by several schools globally (especially the commonwealth). They’re run in a way where basically after learning a year or two’s worth of subject content, you’re externally tested (just like the SAT) by doing a couple of exams at the end per subject. I’d say they’re the most common type of education system just because of it’s usage around the world, and because it’s run by several examination boards. Not 1 like the AP system (which CollegeBoard runs).

@Yvask95‌ @Kai407‌

O level - 2A* 6A 1B
A level - BBB ( my A level dragged down a bit since I completed both AS and A level in single session due to personal problem)

@Kai407‌ Oh okay. So you used a proper way of finding your GPA. I had to estimate it .-.
We aren’t given GPA’s and stuff, but I’ve been told the way I estimated it is the proper way for my system. Where else have you applied and have you heard back from anywhere?

The credits you receive at A Level (a bit like AP but more rigorous) can sometimes help you to skip an entire semester of college

Yup ^

@aerospace15‌ Your O level grades are great! But you seem to have a pretty big downward grade trend… But I wouldn’t worry too much about your A levels. I hear they’re used mainly for credits. They usually take your O levels into more account. What about your SAT scores? @aerospace15‌ and @Kai407‌

@aerospace15‌ Wow a single session, that sounds cray
