Unreported income honest mistake. Am I in trouble? help!

Ok,

I had to fill out Profile for my early decision school and entered numbers based on the tax return from 2011.

In 2011, my mom did not work. Only my dad did, so I just put down the income he made in 2011.

Now, thinking back, my mom did work part-time for a month or two in 2012, and earned a small amount like 1 or 2k.

I'm an international (but live in the us), so it's not like I can make corrections to FAFSA, like people on this forum do.

My parents W2 will come out end of this month, so we will exactly know how much my parents made in 2012.

Will this be a problem?

No. It is normal for students to correct the Profile when the tax returns are finalized.

You get an award estimate based on the numbers you submitted. Your actual award will be based on your actual numbers after your tax returns are finalized. FAFSA is now tied into your returns so that the numbers can be collated, so the school will see what the actual W2 figures are on the actual return.
