Hotchkiss doesn’t beat around the bush; it either wants you or it doesn’t. I recall the AO we spoke with said they try to suss out the urban kids who will be unhappy in a remote rural location.
Just curious about this statement. What is meant by suss out the Urban Kids? And how would they know that they would be unhappy there instead of grateful for a supportive new environment? Kind of sounds like a racially bias statement.
@Sarrip I think you’re taking the first part out of context. Some people are used to an urban envioronment and if they don’t ever express that they like being in a rural environment, or say that they don’t like being in an rural environment, then they might be unhappy at Hothckiss, because it is so rural. I was accepted to Hotchkiss and am from an urban environment; however, I expressed in my interviews and essays that I am in my element when I am surrounded by nature and that I would like to get out of the city.
