Hey guys.

I had a parent who attended Johns Hopkins but did not complete a degree there. I have now included this on the common app and the Johns Hopkins page.

Would this count as a legacy?

Would this count as a legacy?

It won’t hurt to have mentioned it but I don’t think it qualifies as legacy.

is legacy really helpful?

Legacy is not a significant factor in admissions (i.e., if you are not a competitive applicant, it won’t matter at all). That said, legacy is a plus factor to distinguish equally competitive applicants so it, indeed, may make a difference.
