Unusually early deadline?

This is probably a stupid question, but I'm just curious.

I'm doing SCEA to Stanford and I'm submitting an arts supplement. On the arts supplement guidelines, Stanford states that the deadline is October 15th. No other EA school that I have heard of has an earlier deadline for supplements. Is there a particular reason for this?

I imagine they need time to look over the portfolio and comment on it, but other schools do too. Yet their deadlines are still the normal November 1st or January 1st.

Maybe the professors requested for more time to review the entries? Maybe they get a lot of arts supplements (relative to HYPM) etc? Lots of possible reasons.
