My son got his decision back in December for U of T Mississauga and for Scarbrough and St. George it was written “application under review” till a few days ago. Now it states Admitted to an alternate program of study below both i.e. St George and Scarbrough but no further details nor it is clickable or hyperlinked.
What does that mean?
Does it mean those two campuses have accepted him in another program of study and how would I find out or they are simply referring to the UTM offer that was made months ago and mean they won’t offer him anything? Confused !! They should have simply written rejected in that case.
Worried about what this might mean for the fall semester at U of T. As my son is a prospective international student (from the US), the decision to matriculate feels suddenly riskier.
This is definitely pushing UofT farther down our list as we compare schools. The idea of having our kid cross the border and then having it shut down is a bit disconcerting. A friend with a first year there told us she was permitted to drive her child across the border last August, drop him on the corner by the quarantine hotel, and leave. She was not legally allowed to exit her car.
Hey! I just received an email from the faculty of arts and science (St.George campus) that they couldn’t offer me admission to the program. At the end of the email, they wrote “ Your University of Toronto application has been reviewed for alternate campus admission. If granted, details of an alternate campus offer will be posted on [Join U of T applicant website]. You will receive an email if your status has been updated…” Does this mean I am still in contention for the admission even if I haven’t applied to the other campuses?
Hello people! Interesting turn of events; I got an acceptance letter from UTSC in the co-op program of physical and environmental sciences instead of computer sciences…So willl I be able to take a department transfer and not at all study for the program I got accepted in?
Yes I did! I emailed them and they replied that I can take a department transfer if I get my prerequisites right…Although most of the seats are reserved for the students enrolled for Computer science but a few students from different departments do get into CS program…It’s going to be very challenging if I decide to go down this lane but I haven’t made my mind yet.
Good to know. No news here but they emailed yesterday for a statement about a gap year last year. Just didn’t want to do full time online. I hope that means they are reviewing and giving out a decision soon!
