Hi so I recently been deciding whether I should go to University of Pacific’s predental program (6 years) or a Uc. I got scholarship for Uop, which is about like 18k a year. I didn’t get any scholarships from UC. I got into the honors program for santa barbra tho. I honestly shorten down my decision to Uop or Davis, but I’m still not sure. If I go to Uop, i almost centainly get a spot for Uop’s dental school. But if I go to Davis I want to attempt to go to medical or vet school. However, it’s very difficult to survive the studying for medical school and vet. I honestly don’t want to study for a long period and medical school takes like 10 years, while Uop will offer me 6 years total. I don’t want to hear anything like do what you really want or anything. I honestly don’t know though. I feel like Uop offers me a really good thing, but Uc has a name in their school, meaning it has a name. Like Uop doesn’t have a name, barely anyone knows the school, but people know davis. Of course I shouldn’t be preoccupied by that but idk. Tell me your opinion and what you would do.
For dental, pharmacy and PT studies, UOP has a recognizable name and a solid reputation.
You’ve said that you’re undecided, but don’t want to spend extended years studying for a uncertain medical/vet major within the highly competitive UC system.
Because of that, I say go for the sure thing with dental at UOP. Should you change your mind about dental part-way through, you will have taken all of the qualifying Bio and chem. sciences for med school.
Although the area in Stockton is not terrific, the school campus is quite beautiful.
Student who attend really like their quality of life.
Remember that with the 3+3 dental program, you’ll only be at the Stockton campus for three years, followed by a dental year at the San Francisco campus, and then 36-months in SF or at another dental school.

All of these careers aren’t interchangeable. What’s your passion? Animals? Teeth? A certain medical specialty?

Undergrad and med school are 8 years…then you have to add 3-7+ years for residency/fellowship.
Sounds like you’re too impatient to become a doctor.
