Upcoming Year's Classes

College course decisions aren’t all about planning (especially when you’re a freshman and your major very well might change), but:

From my experience, I would opt out of PE for something else that you can build on. If you’re taking a PE course it won’t help you satisfy pre-req’s for future courses that you might be interested in taking next semester/next year. And it’s not one of those gen eds that would upset you to take 2nd semester senior year when you want to relax, you know?

I try to save the irrelevant, easy general education requirements. Plus, it leaves you something so that they can’t force you to graduate if you want to double-major after you finish all the requirements for your first major.

Bump, anyone?

1st semester sophomore

Ancient Philosophy: Sorates, Plato and Aristotle
Logic
College Algebra
Intro to macroeconomics
Environmental Science

Incoming freshman

General Chemistry
Calculus I
English—Freshman Composition
Intro to Philosophy

Introduction to Biological Anthropology
Intro to Bio Anthro Lab
Intro to Archaeology (may change)
The Romans (may change)
Ancient Cities and Urban Development.

Possible Anthro Major. Was thinking “why not pick up a classical civilizations minor” before I realized…I could just as easily pick up a minor that is actually useful, so I’m probably going to change the two classics classes for something more useful like Sociology or something idk.

Also, sophomore haha.

I also need to add a PE or something, Emory requires 3 PE classes…

Junior, Computer Science

Knowledge Based Artificial Intelligence
Data Mining and Analysis
Ethics in Computing
Combinatorics
Intro to Statistics
Technical Writing (required… grr)

18 hours

Though I might switch out one of the maths for something more fun… maybe Social Psychology or something…

Freshman, Undecided, University of Oklahoma =]

English Comp I - 3 hours
Introductory Zoology w/ Lab - 5 hours
Italian I - 5 hours
Calculus I - 3 hours
Orientation to the Health Professions - 1 hour

Introductory Zoology? JEALOUS!

Jealous…? You don’t have any animal biology courses at your college?

Economics and Managerial Studies

ENGM 244 Applied Behavioral Science
HOD 1700 Systematic Inquiry
MGRL 192 Product Development and Management
SOC 228 Cultural Consumption and Audiences
SOC 270 Human Ecology and Society

I think Anthro 392 is like…Primate Study…but I couldn’t get into it.

:( Emory needs more animal courses! haha.

That seems really odd for a quite large, prestigious university…Is this link your school’s course catalog: [Course Descriptions by Subject | Emory College of Arts and Sciences](<a href=“Welcome to Emory College.”>Welcome to Emory College.) ?

Because it includes several animal behavior, organismic , parasite, physiology, genetics, and ecology courses. What did you think zoology courses include? =P It seems that Emory simply clumps zoology with biology.

That explains it. I’m scared of science.
