update on drinking

I woke up Saturday at 5:30 PM. I had the shakes. My sheets were covered in sweat. My head pounding. I had no idea what had happened the night before, and my head still ached from a fight I got in a few days back.

I have to stop drinking or I might die...

I have to add, I have been drunk everyday all day for the last 14 days...and clearly my body is going through withdrawl.

Drinking in moderation is good, but if you have alcoholism in your family, stay away.

If your previous posts are any indication, I think you can beat it.

How can you be going through withdrawl if you haven't stopped drinking yet? What did I miss in your post?

Eh, no one likes a quitter.

The best cure for a hangover is a shot.

Or you could just talk to my good friend Mary, she might be able to help :p.

That's crazy. I def don't drink that much. Then again, I'm only in high school but I still don't plan on drinking that much.

This sounds like a million little pieces...

as in poser?

learn how to control yourself

I didn't drink yet today! yay!

dude, go find yourself something more fun to do. get a hobby.

I was in AA for 2 years, but mostly for drugs. Started drinking again last year, and didn't expect it to be so disastrous...

Not uncommon to trade addictions. Better head back.

Ditto. /gdfgdg/

I don't think just because you have alcoholism in your family it means you'll turn out that way if you drink. My dad has cirrhosis of the liver because he used to drink so much and has been for so long, but I drink on the weekends, often not every weekend (more like every other).

I'm sorry about your situation and I hope it turns out alright for you. Please get some help from trained professionals that are there for that reason. Good luck.

Wutang, stick with your abstinance. If you've been in AA, even for drugs, you have an addiction problem. Don't listen to the others who do not support your efforts to give up drinking. They don't understand how quickly your life can be destroyed by an addiction.

Lots of kids drink when they first get to college. Some can handle, some not. It's not an issue of character or getting a hobby. It's a physical disease that cannot be managed without complete abstinance.

Good for you for recognizing the problem. Go to Health Services, if necessary.
