I posted last March asking for opinions regarding our son and this program. We were concerned that, because he had never liked school and tended to just not do assignments he didn’t like, he would have a hard time keeping his GPA above the minimum to keep his scholarship.
A year in, it’s looking like he made the right choice going there. He ended up with a 3.6. Second semester he encountered a class that he really didn’t like. During spring break he said he’d be happy with a C, but ended up with a B+. He didn’t socialize at all first semester, but in March he became friends with a girl he worked on a project with, and they started dating. She supposed to come down for a visit in a couple of weeks (she lives less than an hour from Ithaca, so he’s already met her parents). It’s early yet, but so far so good.
