Hi, I was wondering if there is any way I can update my application with new awards because when I tried emailing them I got an automated response saying that they don’t respond to individual emails…

I sent an email to my regional admissions director (you can find yours here: [Admission Officers, 2011 First Year Applicants](<a href=“Undergraduate Admission | Brown University”>Undergraduate Admission | Brown University)) and let him know what the update was. They should add it to your file.

When I updated my EC’s, I sent them a formal letter through snail mail with my common app number at the top. I presume the school doesn’t have time to answer all of those emails, so anything that you send will be added to your file and be looked over when they make a decision.
Once you send it in, log in to your Brown portal and look at the items the school has received. If you sent a letter or anything else that wasn’t required it should say something like “other portfolio received.” If it’s there, it will be looked over by the admissions officers.

I sent mine through email simply to the admissions office and got the same automated response, but later got an email saying thanks and that it would be added to my file by a specific counselor, presumably the one for my region. (:

@popcharlie93, what if it doesn’t say “other portfolio received” and you’ve sent a supplementary letter of rec a month ago?

bump- I have the same question as batfan. Does Brown confirm an additional letter of rec?

I would call them if it doesn’t say just so that you can get some peace of mind. I wouldn’t worry about them not getting it, though.

I called today and they said they do not confirm supplemental rec letters. My guess is they did but it would be nice to confirm.

Hi,

I sent 2-3 documents, but I am not able to see anything added in my application status page. Do they show extra essays in the documents recieved , please tell me.
