I realize that UPenn’s an ivy, and their standards for test scores and GPA’s are high, but is this completely accurate? because I realize that the Wharton Undergraduate Program along with the Joint-Degree Programs are very very selective in their admissions, and they would probably require higher standards and expectations from their candidates; therefore, wouldn’t the Liberal Arts School have a bit lower expectations if the statistics are where they are?

For example, if the mean SAT score for verbal was 710-730, but the Wharton Business School would probably have higher expectations, maybe even 750-800. So wouldn’t the Liberal Arts School be around 650-700 to offset the average scores? Cuz I really want to go to the Liberal Arts School at Penn, and my dad keeps telling me I’m a shoe-in, but I don’t want to get my hopes up high and get denied and be totally disappointed, but I’m really really nervous…I’m applying ED btw

You're overestimating the importance of the SAT.

Much more important are genuine scholastic factors, i.e. you have an excellent GPA in the most rigorous curriculum your school offers. This is followed by ECs that show long term commitment and leadership, compelling essays and solid recs.

Your test scores really only confirm your scholastic achievements. They won't make up for a low GPA, and an average score won't kill you given an excellent GPA.

So... check Penn's website for the actual class statistics (CAS and Wharton are seperate BTW) and try to relax.

I thought they don't provide separate admissions statistics for the College and for Wharton... Where did you find that?

The acceptance rate for the College at Penn is probably in the 15-18% range...so I don't think it's too easy to get in for anyone.

Yeah but the ED rate for the college is much higher... but yeah Penn in general isn't "easy" (depends on your defination of easy, but I imagine that not a lot of ppl consider Penn easy)
