UPenn and Columbia: consequences of not submittimg midterms?

I've talked to multiple adcoms multiple times, and the general consensus seems to be that it is "okay". Frowned upon, but not the end of the world. Apparently because so many schools have midterms at erratic times, they have been told to proceed with your application whether or not a midterm report has been received (and at no penalty).

Which leads to my question: I have straight A's and a C. Am I better off not submitting a midterm at all, or submitting a midterm with a C (which I would imagine would disqualify me)?

If I wait until the 17th, on the other hand, I can bring the C up to a B (still bad) or maybe an A if I get lucky and if the professor takes pity on me (which is looking likely) -- should I do this? I could even submit a midterm tomorrow with all of the grades except for the C, with the caveat that a midterm for the last class will be submitted on the 17th.

Anxiety, yall. Help me cope.

Don’t send it if you will have a C on it. That’s my advice.

Okay. That’s what I thought.

Not sure about Columbia, but here’s Penn:

 • All transfer applicants must submit their mid-term grades. Failure to do so within the specified guidelines will put you at a disadvantage in the process and may delay our decision. Use the Common Application Mid-Term Report.

Columbia hasnt asked for my midterm grades, i assume they wont at this point.

I guess the question is whether or not we can get in.
