UPenn CAS Econ vs. NYU Stern

hi everyone.

I want to major in finance and work in ibank as a banker or trader.

I know Wharton is my #1 choice but I have better chance to UPenn CAS Econ than Wharton.
my questions are: 1) what's chance for CAS Econ graduate to work as a trader/banker in ibank. someone said CAS econ in upenn is shadowed by Wharton.

2) if I have to choose between UPenn CAS econ and NYU Stern business, which is better for my career? pros and cons?

Thanks a lot!

I have a friend in UPenn CAS who is taking finance courses over at Wharton and she landed internships on Wall St. this past summer. Honestly, if you’re taking Wharton courses, you won’t necessarily be over shadowed by Wharton kids (especially since you’ll have the additional knowledge in other fields.) But, you may consider getting an MBA since you’re not majoring in business.
Now for your second question, I’d say Stern offers an excellent program but, UPenn’s recruiting is phenomenal. It’s really all up to you. I also have a friend who went to Stern and has a successful career but it’s all dependent on which school you will excel at and which school YOU think will provide you with a better career.

Thanks!
Was your friend in her sophomore or junior year when she found summer intern in Wall St. first time?

Are you also interested in Penn CAS econ?

Sorry I can’t answer your question OP but I’m interested in the topic too. My number 1 choice is Penn and I can’t decide whether I should apply to wharton or CAS to major in economics. Wharton only enrolls 500 undergrads per year which makes it extremely selective. While I would like to go to wharton, Penn is a reach as it is and I would probably have a better chance getting into CAS. I’d like to hear some opinions on econ at Penn too.
