Upenn chances and info

Hey guys
Sooo I'm gonna be a senior in the fall at a decent public school on the east coast...and as of now my college search has led me to upenn. I've got a couple of questions though
1) i have a 96ish unweighted gpa, idk what it is weighted, but i take the best classes one can take at my school (all honors, 2 aps (both 5s) as a junior and 5 aps as a senior it looks like. I also have a 2310 superscore...with my best one score being 1520/2290. i took the sat three times. how do my chances look?
2) do my chances significantly increase if i apply ED?
3) what other colleges are comparable to upenn, but slightly less difficult to get into. i want some good back ups if i dont get in.
4) as far as the sats are concerned...do i have to send all three of my tests? if no, is it worth sending the other two? i have a 2230 and a 2240 as well....but only one of them contributes to my superscore and i only go up 20 points with it anyway.

please help! thanks!

Academically you look great, and I think you have really good chances. I’m assuming you’re applying the the College of Arts and Sciences. Your EC’s and essays will obviously be important to help you get in to.
Penn does require you to send in all your scores, but they would only consider your 2310. ED does indeed increase your chances, because the admissions percentage is significantly higher, but this can be deceptive because the ED pool is often stronger than the RD pool. In regards to colleges that are a bit easier to get into than UPenn, but still comparable in prestige, I’d look at Cornell, Brown, WashU, UChicago etc. But remember don’t apply to a school just because it’s comparable to UPenn, make sure it’s a good fit before you put the effort into applying. Overall I think you have really good academic stats and chances, good luck!

Thanks for the feedback, i really appreciate the help!
yeah I am applying to arts and sciences I think.
so would you recommend applying ED? it looks like i’m gonna go for that as of now.
and I have decent EC’s (neither stellar nor lackluster…im a 3 season varsity athlete and im really involved with music at my school. i do most of my volunteering with the local library or my church…but apart from that stuff i dont do anything crazy) and i think i can knock out some good essays. i guess we’ll see!

and awesome…i’ll check those places out. at this point im less worried about getting into penn (it can be pretty arbitrary so i figure i wont dwell on it) and more worried about getting places im almost as happy with that i can fall back on if they reject me.
thanks again!!!

Just make sure Penn is definitely your top choice if your going ED, because there’s plenty of of great schools you could get into as well.

thanks, i will definitely do some thinking.
if anyone else has something to add, please dont hesitate! i’d love as many opinions as possible!

You also want to be sure that you are ranked top 10%.
If you are 100% sure that Penn is your #1 choice and you don’t need to compare financial aid packages, ED is the way to go.

I’m 5th in a class of 350ish…so thats fine.
and that may be an issue (financial aid). its one of the reasons why im hesitant, but i should qualify for a significant amount of aid. i’ve heard rumors that ED kids get slightly better aid…but the college disclaims them on the site.
