How could you possibly think you have a better shot at Princeton than UPenn??? Unless you’re like a double legacy or something

What about other schools that will most likely release on Ivy Day? Say, Johns Hopkins and Duke for me?

Including them, I’d probably go with JHU (half legacy: sister), Penn, Harvard, Duke. Duke last because I think it’s my first choice of those that will likely come out that day.

i’m glad i’m not the only one who’s thought about this! haha, i’m probably going to check harvard, yale, penn, then brown. i figure that if i go most to least selective, i can still hold onto a little bit of hope if i get rejected from one of the first schools lol. but as of now, i’m just expecting four rejections anyway.

we have similar plans

Cornell (reject), Penn (reject), Yale (reject).

Called it!

To everyone saying that they will “check” harvard on ivy day clearly doesnt realize that harvard sends emails and that you do not get to decide when that comes. It also most likely will not reach you until well past 5.

Very true. But you can choose when to open that email ;)

I got a letter from the financial aid office today about missing documents, dated March 14th. It’s been debated to death in other threads whether this means anything. I’m just curious whether anyone else got this letter from the same date.

all i got in regards to financial aid was a “reception of financial aid documents” confirmation on 2/7.

^^I wouldn’t get your hopes up too much, but getting a message from FA this late in the game is definitely a really good sign. By now, most Ivies have probably wrapped up the vast majority of their decisions and are now likely doing final adjustments to their classes (i.e. analyzing “borderline” cases), so the fact they bothered to contact you at all means you are likely very much in the running at the least.

Actually that’s not necessarily true, because the financial aid office is generally, usually, completely separate from the admissions committees so the FA people don’t really know what the status of your application is. Don’t read into it as a good or bad thing, just keep waiting for next Thursday! 9 more days!!

no, nothing like that… the only reason I was stating that was because I thought my Cornell and Princeton essays were good, whereas I didn’t like my Penn essay. Am I going to get into Princeton? Very likely not (especially since they’ve already triple accepted at my school), but based on essays alone I feel my chances are better. Plus my school, historically, has more people get into Princeton and Cornell (especially Cornell… enough that 40 of us or so are applying) than any other Ivy (… I have no idea why). I don’t think anybody’s gotten into UPenn in the past few years from my school.

The order’s going to have to stay the same though because while I can check UPenn, Cornell, and Princeton online in succession… I’m completly at Harvard’s mercy in regard to when they want to let me know.

anyone have any good ideas on how to spend the next week? i keep telling myself there’s no use in worrying or thinking about it because the decisions already been made but my brain is just not listening!

lucya - Immerse yourself into television as Spring Break begins.

@lucya - Go on a trip somewhere.

I’m going to turn into a lunatic, so when the rejections come - I wouldn’t care a damn. :p

I’ll be checking decisions in increasing order of chances. Pton, Columbia, UPenn, Dartmouth, Cornell. And as far as I know, all of them have portals!! :)

Random question but do you think that if you were offered a place in CAS, they would even consider letting you swap to Wharton before you started?

^ No. You’d have to pursue an internal transfer once you were there:

^No

So…

What time did everyone get their e-mails…?

^ what emails?
