Got something nice in the ED round but don’t want to spoil it for you.

aaaand there’s the second one. I wonder why - do they think Ivy League applicants can’t remember a date? lol.

Apparently there was a video and music on the Harvard 2017 website… not that I would know!

Do you mean there was a special message within the reminder or just a special message with the acceptance letter? Sorry, just confused!

Still haven’t gotten my first e-mail… am I the only one?

@GoodJobBro I haven’t gotten anything either so you’re not alone!

If you got no emails, that means you were rejected.
If you got two, congratulations! You’ve been accepted.

I’m so sorry for those of you just kidding.

LOL.

In the Cornell RD thread, someone jokingly posted that Cornell admissions used an algorithm that sent notifications out at odd times if you were rejected and even times if you were accepted, or something to that effect. There were 5+ pages of speculation on that theory. Funniest thing ever (speaking from a spectator’s point of view). People are so stressed out…

Real talk, though, if you didn’t get either email, perhaps you should check your spam folder and make sure you spelled your email address correctly on the application?

I just received mine about 5 minutes ago. Relax guys…this e-mail does not have anything to do with our decision :)

I didn’t get anything, either! not gonna read much into it, though. Don’t wanna stress out.

Good luck everyone!

I checked my spam folder and nothing… IDK.

I just got my second email. Not going to get my hopes up though. I wish everybody the best of luck!:D

I got the first email but not the second. But really though, it makes no sense for them to send emails out using the accepted/waitlist/deny lists. It seems easier to use the original list of applicants in whatever alphabetical/numerical order they were in.

Oops I accidentally trashed my first one and the second one just came in at 8:11pm

Anyone receive their email at an obscure hour? I got mine at 2:10 am. Guess they really are randomly generated

haha just got a second email. I honestly do not think it means anything. I got my first from them 3/12 so it makes sense that close to the deadline, they want to send out reminders to people whose emails may have gotten lost in their inbox. This isn’t their first rodeo, so I’m sure that they’re going to try and make it as difficult as possible to predict the final decision (insert impending wave of college conspiracy theories).

^ conspiracy theory: you received your first email on the 12th while others received theirs on the 11th, this means bad news. conspiracy theory part deux: you received your second email much later than the others, this would also contribute to the ‘bad news’ theory.

Well, you asked for it…

^Thanks for those blinding beams of optimism…

hey, don’t fret. I got my email on the 12th as well and have yet to even receive my second letter…

I received my first email on M
arch 11 at 10:21. I received the second one on March 26 at 4:35. I know this means nothing, but it’s fun to partake in this.
Lol
Time passes by quickly

Good Luck to us All

@arghfrustrated, haha sorry for the sarcasm earlier, I think I’m beyond the stage of fretting now and have entered the stage of pure nervousness. Good luck to you and I hope both of us are accepted!

What are everyone’s ivy day plans btw? Are you guys going to go straight to decisions or delay it a little?

I’m definitely going to check at 5. I applied to 5 ivies and have 1 non-ivy also coming out at the same time. I’m planning on checking Penn first, then I’m not sure what order.
