I think so.

The email I got was a little different. It specified what exactly was missing from my financial aid forms and I recieved it yesterday. Perhaps it’s just a coincidence that it’s near the deadline

Mystic1996,
Can you post the link or whatever to the page where you got that info? I’m interested to see what past applicants said about the email

This is the email i got on December 6th:
Dear Prospective Penn Student:

This email acknowledges receipt of 2014-2015 Financial Aid application materials. Please do not send duplicate documents as this may delay processing your application.

A checklist of required forms and deadlines can be found at:

It seems pretty automated so i dont necessarily think it means anything but if you didnt get it then just call them to see if you have any missing documents. And i think if you have missing documents they email you and tell you

@mystic1996 yeah i would like to see that too to see if it is actually a big deal

Hey, I also applied ED with financial aid (I faxed everything) and didn’t get a confirmation email, so I phoned student financial services. They were really helpful and confirmed that I’d sent everything in. Apparently they actually just don’t send emails to everyone and it doesn’t signify anything according to the woman who answered, so I wouldn’t worry too much.

@miaoyuan

Yeah, I’m starting to think it’s not as big of a deal as I had made it to be previously. Well that’s quite a hefty load that’s off my shoulders - not that I’m guaranteed an acceptance now, but whatever. At least I have at least a sliver of a chance of getting in.

Yes, I got that email too. It seemed automated though, like everyone else is saying…

For those of you who got the email recently, when did you send in your financial aid docs, and was it online or mail?

I got that email November 19th. I don’t really know about when I sent in the financial aid stuff, because my parents did it haha

@montyx619 do you mind telling us exactly what the email said?

I only submitted the penn financial aid form and the CSS profile. I didn’t submit the non-custodial profile. I didn’t receive an email.

Sure,
Your financial aid application is incomplete. Please fax your parents&#…; 2012 Schedule A of their Federal Tax return and all pages and schedules of the Business return. The fax number is 215-573-5428.

I know for fact that I haven’t turned in one of my finaid items. If the correlation between this fabled email and admission stays true this year, I’m pretty goddamn worried/bummed.

@GrammarNazi so you havent turned in a fin aid item and they didnt email you saying that your financial aid profile was incomplete. If that’s true then the emails might actually mean something this year too. This is all too much to stress about

Who said that in other years people thought they meant something? Where did you find that?

Have they ever released decisions a few days or a few hours early?

Same GrammerNazi, I know I didn’t hand in the Penn Supplement (I only found out about from this thread) and I haven’t received an email. I emailed the SFS people, so hopefully I get a response soon. Well, ****.

Per your guys’ suggestions, I started binge watching Suits a few days ago to try to get my mind off penn.

Just got to a scene where a high-powered banker says to a lawyer, “we didnt go to Harvard. We went to Wharton, and we saw you coming a mile away.” /:

Just can’t escape Penn ):

@Bradleycard …ouch. I watch Supernatural where the only school they ever talk about is Stanford ^^

Jesus Christ this email thing is making me paranoid again
