UPenn Class of 2018 ED Applicants

Im stalking my interviewer on linkedin and staring deep into his eyes. I hope he put in a good word for me.

Hahaha I hear everyone. I’m about to give my schools morning announcements and all I can think is…you guys don’t even know what I’m going through right now.

I just went into the Penn MyApplicant portal, and for some weird reason, I can’t log in because it says my account is “locked.” Anyone else with this problem today?

@jaewonsf
My son just logged into his account, I think you should try again after an hour or so.

@jaewonsf
Did you enter an incorrect password a few times? Your account locks after a certain number of attempts. You have to reset your password to be able to access it again I believe.

i thought we weren’t able to access the applicant portal until today at 5?

The Applicant Portal works fine (as useless as it is), The part of the portal that holds our decision can only be accessed after 5 today from the website they sent us.

From another Harvard EAer: good luck today guys. Remember that YOUR COLLEGE DECISION IS NOT INDICATIVE OF THE TYPE OF PERSON YOU ARE NOR DOES IT DETERMINE THE TYPE OF FUTURE YOU WILL HAVE. Best of luck!

ohhh ok. gotcha :slight_smile: i just logged in. do you know that when we log in after five, the decision would immediately be there, or do we have to click on something to see the decision? i just want to mentally prepare myself before i see anything

They’re getting ready for you guys–take a look at the top of Penn’s home page today:

[Penn: University of Pennsylvania](http://www.upenn.edu/)

Incidentally, they usually suspend access to the main applicant portal for a few hours when decisions are first released, because of all of the extra traffic on the site. At least they do when RD results are released (and almost 30,000 people are trying to log in to get their decisions). If I’m remembering correctly, they also do that for the initial release of ED results.

It’s official. The Penn applicant portal is officially down and redirects to the decisions page. Penn also tweeted about admissions decisions.

8 hours to go guys.

This is too much guys - I’m going to puke.

thank god i have study hall first period. otherwise, i would NOT be able to focus in class. i am trying to finish my emory essays, but i have writer’s block (go figure). ahhhh good luck everyone!!!

Does anyone’s Parent ED agreement say Downloaded? My sons still says submitted.

I’m at school and i can’t pay full attention because I’m thinking about penn and oh god my whole high school career is defined in these next hours

Good luck from a Cornell ED’er! You’ll all be okay no matter what. What time do your decisions come out?

@quakerhope
Sons applications shows submitted, just like applications to all his other schools.
Don’t think it has any bearing on the chances. Michigan (where he has also applied Early Action), the website which is being updated has been showing that S application has been received and there are no holds.

Just wondering, is it normal for the Penn MyApplicant thing to still not show the status of your application? Like, whether or not it was received. For the longest time mine gave me the “Due to delays…” message but then the message disappeared and now there’s just nothing there o.O Kinda weird. Anyone else’s like this? At least before the portal went down obviously.

@zandm7: yeah, it’s normal. Mine looks like that, too.

OK good thanks!
