@2018dad
that’s what they said in my decision letter actually:"For fall 2014, we received more than 86,000 applications for a freshman class of 5,700. And the quality of our applications gets stronger every year. "

What I have so far:

Accepted and considering: Tulane (honors college, 25K scholarship), Miami (24K scholarship, invite to interview for full scholarship), Alabama (full ride, honors college), Kentucky (full ride, Global Scholars Honors Program- think Huntsman, but much easier to get into)

Accepted and not considering- Oklahoma, Baylor, Drexel, South Carolina, Rhodes, and Franklin & Marshall

Waitlisted: Davidson

Rejected: Duke (ED)

Still Waiting: Wharton, Vanderbilt, Richmond, Bucknell (but there is no way that I will choose Bucknell)

5700 is the target number of students who will enroll. They need to accept more than that number since not every acceptees will enroll. Using the %yield last year (36.2%), here’s the estimated UCLA’s acceptance rate this year:

(5700/.362)/86472=18.2%

Are you kidding me!!! They received 86000 applications and they have to accept 5700 students. Thats a lot of applications but also a very large freshman class. If thats True then they need to send out at-least twice the acceptance or maybe more so they can reach 5700 target.

how many did they already accept as ED and EA ?

“The Office of Admissions posted acceptance letters at 5 p.m. for 1,299 of the record 5,149 applicants. These students represent approximately 54 percent of the target class size of 2,420 students. The number of applicants grew by approximately 6.7 percent, and the number of admitted students represented an 8.6 percent increase from past years”

According to this Class size is 2420 not 5700. and they already accepted 54% of the students in ED.

This is UCLA. Sorry, me and @DorisLo went off topic.

Accepted: UCLA, UCSD, CSUSB

Waitlisted: ND, UChicago

Waiting: Stanford, Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, Penn, Vanderbilt, USC

Penn just sent me some snail mail saying that my FA info is incomplete…Did any of y’all get this? Is this a bad sign?

@polodolly
Don’t look into it and try to determine whether it is a bad sign or not. I did not receive any such notification because it seems that all of my items are submitted. Either way, its not a bad sign.

@polodolly seeing that I have not sent all my FA and did not get one, it’s possible it could mean acceptance/waitlist. Best of luck!

@matrixsurgeon: You’re right. It’s more of a reminder of my laziness than anything, haha. 3 days to go. The wait is making me read into every little thing.
@romeonachos: Thanks! And don’t worry, I JUST got this, but it was dated March 16th! So maybe they have sufficient info. or yours is coming in the mail.

Hey it’d be cool if everyone else wrote here what other schools they have been accepted to or waitlisted for!
I’ll start.

Rejected: Case Western (PPSP), WashU (USPM)

Waitlisted: WashU, Case Western (Probably because I didn’t bother replying to their request for an application update after getting rejected from PPSP)

@Oregongirl
