@bcgconsultant congrats! What was ur stats? Which country you were applying from?
rejected
Wharton accounting major from the Philippines
- went for test optional
-recommendations were probably good
-essay was probably just 6/10 because it was a bit rushed
-around 9 subjects in a semester including business related ones like accounting, marketing, management, finance etc.
-school doesn’t have gpa or ap/honors classes
-grades from previous years are a mixture of B+ A- and a few A and A+
-grades now are A- and above(I have 2 or 3 B+)
-applied for financial aid
-extracurriculars: 4 clubs, an internship in the senate, volunteer work for my school and church
compared to everyone else my stats are probably really bad and it was a long shot so im not even sad I got rejected. it hurts though to get rejected not even deferred so I came up with like 30 reasons why Penn sucks
I got rejected. Not sure how. I had a 4.0 UW GPA, 4.8 weighted, 35 ACT, great essays, legacy, great activities, don’t need aid. Someone help me. If I didn’t even get deferred, who the **** did?!!
You guys go to an expensive private high school?
As far as I know, Ivy league schools do not give out scholarships, for academic or athletics. Even if there is a named scholarship, it is just assigned to financial aid students. Can you clarify what kind of scholarship you got? thanks
public school
affluent town.
D deferred. Test optional.
@BT2021 Stats please. Thanks
Same here… i applied to engineering and I think that did me in
what type of legacy just curious
i got deferred from SEAS with a 1450 SAT and i submitted my score. my ECs and essays were pretty good tho so i guess academics aren’t everything
soes anyone know how many people got deferred? and what the acceptance rate for deferred applicants is?
My niece did…she has the same stats etc… just goes to show what a crapshoot this whole process is.
It could have been your major? Some are more competitive.
My son got accepted into M&T program as an international student from Canada.
Did she apply to engineering? Girls have a much better shot in engineering anywhere, including MIT where ~50% are women.
No she applied to Wharton.
What do you mean what type
single? double? parent? uncle? sibling? grandpa?
