Guys, I actually did end up getting an interview today!! It lasted for around an hour, it was a virtual interview. It was very fun and casual.
@arronnie do you think admissions contacted the interviewer to see what happened? I’m so glad you had the interview and that it went well!
ohmygod my interview did not end well. how much do you guys think interviews factor into the admissions decision?
@seanelle Depends on what you mean by “did not end well”. Interviews are not nearly as significant as other parts of your application, though, so I would try not to worry too much.
@seanelle what happened? I’m sure it’s not as bad as you think.
@collegemomjam My interviewer just had some emergency to deal with. And we had it rescheduled for this morning.
I felt so lucky to get the opportunity
My interview went super well we talked for close to two hours. I know the interviews aren’t held to the same standards as grades or test scores or anything but if one went super well does anyone know the level of impact that could have on admission?
@sunrae well i asked my interviewer about his experience taking an organic chemistry class and if it was as challenging as everyone makes it out to be. he answered the question and then followed it up by saying that I shouldnt be applying to schools based on the difficulty of courses because that isn’t quantifiable and its very subjective. he laughed it off but after that the rest of the interview was awkward and kind of forced…
hello i also applied ed will someone be my friend pls
just finished up my interview. it was about an hour and a half long and went great
@Patience20 woah wait you just finished? Where do u live bc it is 3am where im at. either way im glad it went great! what did yall talk about?
haha I live in Bangladesh so it was almost 3 pm when we wrapped up. we started off with the basic questions listed on the penn website but then transitioned into talk about my interests and activities. i had a few questions for my interviewer too regarding the penn community but it was really chill. my interviewer was awesome so it was super easy to get our thoughts across
when do you guys think that the decisions will come out?
@misssunshineee I would guess the second week of December, maybe the 8th or 9th.
They usually release it on Friday afternoon after school to give time to consume the news and minimize the impact on school. So 9th, or 16th this year!
They will announce the exact time in advance.
@misssunshineee @ryanordy88 hi so like I just started lurking recently, where are you guys applying from?
I’m applying from the US (massachusetts, more specifically)!
Pittsburgh, PA in the US. What about everyone else?
@anika839 I’m applying from Massachusetts too what region/town are you from? I live in a really small town and there seven people in my grade of 109 applying for ED at Penn…
@masquerade98 I used to live in Philly but now I live near Boston
