@bubari…so that’ll be in the mail or the portal?
@GalladeAggron It’s in the portal
@GalladeAggron portal
do you guys think that penn’s ed acceptance rate will decrease compared to last year? last year, it was around 20%.
@vaselineeee most definitely; ED applicants increased by 11.5% and Dean of Admission stated he had no intention of increasing the amount of students admitted via ED as it was already very high (55% last year)
@JonEilish this is devastating. thanks though!
@CULL192333 well I hope so lol, but I really don’t know where are you from?
@vaselineeee Yes, I think the ED acceptance rate would be 18-19%, if they accept the same amount of students as last year.
ED Class of 2021: 22.03% accepted, 1,354 accepted
(Prediction) '2022: 20.11% accepted, if 1,354 accepted
If penn decides not to accept more applicants, then i guess the acceptance rate would fall by 2%. this is sad.
@Camfingercross I’m applying for criminology too! Do you think we have a higher chance as less people apply for it? or do more people apply as it’s the only ivy that offers it?
Really wish I was applying in 2007 lol
@skieurope - Questbridge applicants are the only ones who have gotten accepted so far. Could the people posting acceptances have gotten notifications through them? If they’re straight-up trolls that’s just next-level mean. The next few days are the highest stress/anxiety a lot of us have ever been under. We appreciate you keeping those kinds of idiots from making it worse!
@FireLordAzula They were fake users. They created accounts 15 mins before posting.
@trakk123 From what I’ve heard criminology is actually pretty competitive to get into at Penn. If you’re trying to increase your chances with a random major I’d imagine things like ancient history, geology, or even urban studies would help.
is anyone here applying as a math major?
I thought Penn bases their decision on the school you’re applying to, not the major???
Person: breathes
Me: STOP ASKING ME ABOUT COLLEGE
@bubari They don’t just base the decision on the school you apply to, they also are very mindful of the entire undergrad class they are building. The different school committees do not work independently of each other. But yes specific major doesn’t matter really.
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
I’m going with straight-up mean. If they just created the account and do not mention QB, I am not giving them the benefit of the doubt.
Why have I looked at College Confidential more than I’ve looked at my parents in the past week?
