yeah my entire checklist is gone, all that is on my portal is when decisions will be released and financial aid stuff…i’m so worried now omg
@ireallyhop @hiiithereee have you guys heard of a lot of other people applying to this area? Also what are you guys wanting to focus in?
ohh mine says downloaded, but on 10/22…
@kcraig thank you for the response. Would it be possible for me to accept my offer (i.e indicate that I’d be willing to make ends meet even without any financial aid), but still apply for financial aid (which might not be processed before then)?
@tryingtodecide22 my tour guide at penn was this major but I’m not sure if it’s popular or not
hey guys-- here’s an update: only one cornell kid has responded so far, but he says he was deferred and that his ED parent agreement shows “submitted.” not sure if there’s correlation yet. I’ll keep updating!
my parent agreement says submitted on 10/12/17, and all my counselor/teacher reqs say downloaded on 10/22/17
@EatQuakerOats yes, I believe so. You just won’t be able to deny going based on aid being too little. It would be good to call them to confirm.
@pennplz Ok I think it means nothing than as I am pretty sure that is what everyone’s has
Guys I think the form gets downloaded a few days after submission… so im pretty sure it means nothing…
yeah bc what else would the common app say? like there isn’t anything else that would be logical
@kcraig Thank you very much for your help. Best of luck and keep eating Quaker Oats!
you guys stress me out :’)
@DelilahRhodes great to hear. Never took the theory as serious because statistically speaking, the chance of so many overachieving applicants on College Confidential not getting accepted with 22% admission rate is incredibly low.
In summary: It seems that the agreements are arbitrary and may or may not have been downloaded. It could actually be that they downloaded our stuff and then our counselors sent the ED agreement later. Anyways, I am sure that even if there was an error, the school would accept contingent on you or your counselor signing the agreement.
Are applicants considered together, or Penn has specifically CAS, Wharton, SEAS, Nursery and other programs admission committee? Do applicants applying to CAS have any influence on SEAS applicants?
@stayfoolish729 I’m fairly sure that each school is considered separately. Wharton doesn’t compete with CAS, etc.
Is there a specific timing they send out the results? I’m really stressed out right now
Ya at 7 est
@stayfoolish729 @MeowMeowFishes Each school is considered separately but not completely independent of each other. From my understanding, each committee has some members that are specific to the school, but also other members than are tasked with looking at apps across schools. The adcoms are trying to build a well-balanced undergrad class as a whole, while at the same time building a strong class for each individual school.
