<p>A kid at my school last year had the same SAT and was ranked 1 spot higher than me. He took all the same classes I did and also that college thing I talked about.</p>

<p>Well, this is an oddly funny/weird story. My family, like most of the first-generation Chinese immigrants, bought a restaurant. The only names they knew were "Haahhvaad," and "Stanndfad." So, for a year of my life (eighth grade) I was disillusioned with "Haahhvaad and Stanndfad." But, then there's this old guy that always came into my Restaurant and ordered the same thing EVERY SINGLE TIME. So, for some reason (I forgot), we talked about colleges, what I want to do with my life, blah blah blah, and where I wanna go. I said the big H&S, and he said "Pfft...why? You seem like a fun enough kid to know the difference. Ever heard of Penn?"
---yep...that was the beginning of my journey toward self-discovery..actually, no. That was when I decided to find out stuff about Penn. I fell in love with it since 9th grade...now the only question is whether the school loves me back...a kid from AZ...</p>
<p>So that was my story. But my interviewer was quite surprised that I was applying Penn ED. She said "not a lot of ppl knows about Penn here. They always mix it up with Penn State"...</p>
