Can't be the only one can I?
I'm expecting a rejection, but one can hope.

And because the 15th is Presidents Day, results will likely come the 16th or later this year.
It's during my vacation, so I can sit by my mailbox and wait all day.

I’m from New York, so there’s a ton of snow. Hopefully, it’ll be here tomorrow or saturday. Otherwise, with no post on Sunday and a holiday on Monday, I’ll hear on tuesday.

I’m from northern DE, which also got hit with the snow, as was Swarthmore itself. The letter is dated February 9th, and no way there was mail service on Wednesday in these parts, so it must have been mailed Tuesday.

For the past week or so my mind has been in a different mental state, and it’s not a pleasant one. Accepted, rejected, deferral… I just want to know so I can escape the constant haze my mind is consumed in.

I want this school immensely, but then scrolling through the other ED threads on this site and seeing the majority of the participants rejected is not that great of an inspiration. :D

Congratulations to those in! I’ll be gone from home all day tomorrow so it’ll be extra painful for me. :P

Kojiro - as someone that was in that groupd from ED I that was rejected - just know that there are other places, and that all the schools I have applied too I am extremely happy with. I have already been accepted to one, and I am waiting to hear back from 3 more, Bryn Mawr, American, and George Mason.

Like my mom told me and the others that were rejected in December, it doesn’t make us any less of a person and it just change who we are - it just wasn’t meant to be.

But, I wish you best of luck - I know what the anxious waiting is like - don’t drive yourself crazy and make sure you get some sleep. :)

Hey, I remember you! You said something similar back then.

Thank you very much for the kind advice. I’m sure you’ll be happy where ever you go.

Out of the 25 colleges I applied to, 6 have responded. Those 6 have been acceptances. Number 7 will be Swat, and Swat’s decision will determine what I do with those other 24. ;)

I’m waiting on EDII over here in California! I really hope they make it by Saturday, because I really don’t want to wait until Tuesday. I truly do like all the colleges I applied to, but Swat is obviously my first choice. I’ll just have to wait and see.

A few months ago I probably would have been much more disappointed, but I’m quite alright the decision to be honest. I’ve adopted the mentality, like someone else mentioned, that other great opportunities await, and the letter and the college itself was just not the right opportunity for me.

Oh well. Good luck to all the other EDIIers! I hope the results end up much better than the EDI’s did.

And oh, I also want to add that I much prefer my Swarthmore rejection letter to the letter I received from another LAC out west.

I got in! I’m extremely happy with this turn of events. I had to drive home in four hour traffic, whiling listening to Dream Theater. Now I love Dream Theater, but at that time I would have much preferred being home with that letter.

Leeduh, I’m sorry you didn’t get in. :\ It’s good, however, that you’re not defeated by it - and what is this about the other LAC?
