@PPofEngrDr It happens every interview cycle (ED, RD every year). The first deadline is the one you see published — i.e., Feb 15th — whereas as the second one is only sent to interviewers. I tried posting a screenshot earlier, but I guess the link was removed in the moderation queue. Here’s the email that goes out to interviewers:
@aoeuidhtns thanks for update, it sounds more like a second batch of applicants those couldn’t be interviewed due to lack of enough resources by Feb 15th, not second interview for applicants who are already interviewed. Also the email states clearly to submit report by March 1, consistent with http://www.admissions.upenn.edu/apply/freshman-admission/checklist that states interviews December - Early March for RD applicants. So as an applicant its only one interview, please correct me if I am missing something here.
@PPofEngrDr Correct it’s for people who didn’t receive interviews yet. It’s very rare to be offered a second interview – I’m not sure how that came into the conversation.
Hey guys, I’m an International student from Luxembourg and I’ll be interviewed this Tuesday. Is anyone willing to offer any advice? I’d be very grateful
P.S. I’ve applied for a major in Economics and a minor in History, with intentions to study Law at a graduate degree.
Does anyone know what the stats are for legacy kids? If 328(admitted) of 1131(legacy who applied) were legacy kids for early admission - that is almost 29%.
@edy_bernardy99 Here is a good starting point https://www.alumni.upenn.edu/s/1587/gid2/16/interior.aspx?sid=1587&gid=2&pgid=8156&sitebuilder=1&contentbuilder=1
Otherwise do some searching around for general college interview tips. Good luck!
@Rescuediva on par with the average Penn student
@IvyDreamfor2022
I as well! I’m super scared cause now that I think about it, i should have submitted a resume but I basically handled all the processes down to payment so making a resume just felt tiring. Have you had an interview?
has anyone had their interview?
@summerhazed I submitted my application around 11:58pm… It was a last second click tbh…looollllll
@summerhazed What region are you from?
how is the interviewing going or how did it go? @musicandscience
@Ebbie1 I’m from NEPA (northeastern Pennsylvania).
It went really well! I think me and my interviewer really connected thanks for asking! @Ebbie1
Can anyone access the admitted student portal? I can’t, but I am not sure if Penn would leak this type of information early like a few other schools.
Just got a request to interview over the phone!
I did something during first semester that I think may be noteworthy, should I just wait for my upcoming interview or send an update?
@tt8082 I’d both talk to your interviewer about it and send an update. When I received a few awards after submitting my application, I briefly mentioned it in my interview, but I followed up by sending an email to my regional admissions counselor detailing my updates.
What other schools were you referring to?
@kcasssuu Not worth it. Just wait until “Ivy day” to find out. There was a flaw way back in the MBA portal that allowed everyone to see their admission status early (I think it was like a 3 step process – super easy). HBS decided to reject all the admits that logged in early: http://archive.boston.com/business/articles/2005/03/08/harvard_rejects_119_accused_of_hacking_1110274403/
I have not uploaded mid-year report in common APP. Is it mandatory? Only two universities asked for, that I sent them through email. But other universities like Cornell never asked for the mid-year report and portal shows all documents are complete and application is under review. Pls, advise what I should do.
