I just realized. Aren’t they not supposed to contact me right now? I thought the Ivy Blackout started last week
@LondonVall Good luck. This seems to be a good sign.
@LondonVall scary but sounds like it’s probably good news!
Let us know what happens (if you’re willing to) @LondonVall
Just got off the phone with my AO. I had applied under engineering, but they were reading my essays/resume and noticed that I also had a strong interest and background in politics. She called to offer me the opportunity to switch to a dual focus degree so that I could pursue both interests.
I was terrified that I had done something wrong or forgot something and that my application would be thrown out! This was a much better phone call lol
That level of attention to detail is impressive!
Looks like you got in
@LondonVall All the best
U r in
Hey guys! I’m new to this place and it seems like everyone seems to know what they are talking about. Online it says the regular decision notification will be by April 1 2018 but then I was reading on here that it could be on the 28th of March? Could someone educate me haha.
@perugirl23 APril 1 is an estimate, March 28 is legit
All Ivy League schools agree to release RD decisions on the same date. This year it happens to be the 28th.
Ah homies thank you! I guess a weekish then huh… good luck to all of you!
me
@FiringSquad I have
I called the financial aid offices a couple days ago about the specific UPenn documents needed, and the person I was speaking with said “…after you receive your acceptance.” I don’t know if this was just a fumble, but do people in financial aid have access to decisions? I’ve been repeating that conversation over and over wondering if it means anything.
@lis10928 That’s a fumble – the financial aid office wouldn’t be aware of your decision status
@LondonVall Did you take the offer?! That sounds like a great sign.
@aoeuidhtns I didn’t and I guess I kind of regret it. When she called, I had been so terrified about what the call was about, I just wanted to end the conversation as quickly as possible lol. I just told her that I wanted to maintain my engineering focus. I guess, subconsciously, changing anything about my application this late in the game also scared me. It is what it is, but I honestly don’t want to read too much into it. I think that they just pay close attention to every applicant and that they just noticed something odd about me. I’m not taking it as a sign of acceptance just yet.
*I was also worried that maybe she was trying to hint to me that I wouldn’t be accepted under my applied major and would have a better chance under another one. But again, I don’t want to drive myself crazy speculating when decision are right around the corner
Do you guys think it’s too late for me to send in my Financial Aid forms (like Tax, W-2, etc)
I thought that Penn was covered under IDOC and didn’t bother sending them in… I hope it doesn’t affect admissions
