I’m surprised Penn hasn’t sent out missing financial aid mail/emails. That was an indicator of acceptance.
After checking IDOC I noted that Penn had requested tax forms. I was surprised since I had uploaded all the required documents into IDOC… I contacted Penn last week and they said that, in addition to IDOC, they require the documents be sent to them directly via their portal .
quick question for all: if you sent in your mid-year transcript report, did it show up on the submitted documents on the applicant portal?
@maddieportnoy18 Not for me, but I know for sure that my school sent it
^ same here- doesn’t show up, but school sent it for sure!
Does anyone know if all accepted nursing students receive likely letters? Is it possible to be accepted without receiving one?
FA emails have nothing to do with acceptance. Financial aid offices and admission offices are completely separate because the Ivies are need-blind. Admissions officers can see that you applied for FA on your common app, but they can’t see if you finished your FA requirements at all. I haven’t completed a single FA application for any of the schools I’ve already been accepted to and didn’t receive any emails.
Also remember, these schools are LOADED. If you really can’t finish your FA soon, it’s not the end of the world. I’ve been told by multiple schools that I have up until early August to still work with the FA office. One student’s FA award is pocket change to these schools
“when you get your acceptance” or any similar statement is a general phrase given to all applicants.
You can check the common app to see if you mid-year report got downloaded or not. It doesn’t show up on the Penn portal.
Does anybody know what time ivy decisions are usually released?
@ApexDude 7 PM ET for Penn, Harvard, Princeton, so I’m guessing all ivies follow suit
@LondonVall there is a correlation with Penn with missing FA documents and acceptance. Look at last year’s thread.
@MaybeHarvard2022 I doubt it. Because I submitted all my FA documents on time, I would never get an email even if I was “accepted”
I tried calling them today to inquire and see if I can figure out if there is a connection, but the campus offices are closed because of the storm. I truly hope there is no connection because I have yet to receive an email (even though I haven’t even started my FA application… Like at all).
I called Dartmouth this morning, however, and she made it explicitly clear that FA and admissions are completely separate for that university
@LondonVall What happened to the Ivy Blackout…?
The blackout only refers to the universities contacting the students through like email and phone, not the students and parents calling into the offices.
(Even though I was contacted by email and phone by Penn like 2 days ago, so idk what’s really happening with the blackout)
Is the blackout a confirmed occurrence or is it just a theory shared amongst students?
hmm, probably a good sign for you then.

@MrElonMusk @LondonVall here is the thread i’m talking about.
