I guess my point is that all the bickering over what is ranked higher is sort of silly, things change all the time. I would sa now Penn is WAY above where it was even 7 years ago. Top schools are top schools, they all give you amazing opportunities.

i tried to transferring to Northwestern because it was one of my favorite schools but i got rejecting twice as well, once with a very good record out of high school but one of their hardest programs, and then trying to transfer to one of their easier programs but with al ower GPA in college because of a tought year.

suffice to say i got turned down both times just like you. Tough it out, or more likely you should transfer somewhere you can afford and can get into, as there's bound to be such a place better than your so called "crappy public U".

I had different motiviations, i simply liked NU so much than any of the IVY's/top schools i looked at that i really wanted to go, but i had the luxury of already being in a top school and programs if i chose to say, which i did.

so as i said you may want to transfer anyway, it may be a little late, but perhaps you should have picked safetys you could afford (like a top public) assuming you got in, it sounds like it would still be an improvement on your current situation.

wow, slipper i am very impressed with your record and accomplishments. That's absolutely fantastic, how much you accomplished! It is pretty funny how schools can drastically change in a few years. WUSTL is prob the greatest example. Today, you need at least a 1400 if you do not apply ED, but 5 years ago, you could walk in there with a 1250. Penn is extremely selective now, and it is one of the hardest schools to get into regular decision.

Yeah, its amazing what Penn has done!! WUSTL as well, things change so much in a short period of time. Most schools are a lot harder to get into now though I would say, but a few have really climbed.

Sorry, I just wan to be sure.
Do you really think that is the equivalent ofthe other schools mentioned?
I do not think the corporate world does, at all.

Also, St. Louis is not exactly a very exciting environment compared to the others' location. Even though Cornell is in ithica, its campus is so big that it is its own city.

well according to US News, it is better than Cornell, Brown, JHU, Univ of Chicago. Good luck convincing that to the corporate world. How many kids at Harvard Law are from WUSTL?? The answer is 2. Enough said. For Northwestern, it is like 17, Cornell, 44, Duke, 59, you get the point.
