UPenn Wharton Interview

Hi, I have my interview coming up, and for those who you who have had yours, what kind of questions did they ask? Did they ask any questions specific to Wharton? Did they ask any current affairs questions?

Please let me know!

This is on their official website: https://admissions.upenn.edu/admissions-and-financial-aid/what-penn-looks-for/interviews
It gives you some possible questions the alum may ask. Hope that helps!

Thank you!!

Everyone is different, but I will keep most of the questions about Penn and your background. I will ask why Wharton specifically and why the concentration that you listed on the application. I’ll also ask about career aspirations, but I’ll ask that of everyone.

Most of what I’m taking away from the interview will be in how you come across during our conversation. For example, I won’t ask how you work in a group project, how you get along with others, how ambitious you are, etc. I’ll figure that out based on what we talk about.

If you start making claims that you want to work at a hedge fund or that you’re some kind of day trader, then I will ask you technical questions to see if you can walk the talk. My advice: don’t invite these kinds of questions.

At the very least, just have an idea of what’s happening in the world from a macro perspective (e.g., trade concerns are causing companies to cut their earnings forecasts), but I would doubt you’d get asked anything too in depth, if at all, without you provoking it.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.
