Upload Dorm Pictures

Given the lack of pictures on the housing site and the overall lack of visuals available on the internet regarding this subject, could current students take some pictures of their dorms/rooms/living areas and post them to a shared photo site such as www.flickr.com ? It would be very helpful to those of us who can't visit NU in the next couple of weeks to check out actual students living in lived-in dorms.

Good idea...I know when I was looking into housing last year, i got really frusterated with their lack of photos. I'll will try to collect some photos of north campus, Sarge in particular. But I have some friends who could get some pics of Elder and Bobb. Don't hold your breath though, im gonna be really busy this next week. Ill try to get them soon though

I'd really appreciate this!

Thanks for your help Gyro. Anybody else available to do this?

PS: how do you bump topics to the top of the forum around here?

I went to Preview NU during the middle of March and stayed in Sargent Hall, and I honestly wasn't impressed. The one major positive (especially if you're majoring in engineering) is that its right next to the engineering building (honestly like 10 feet away) and Sargent seems very safe (it took three different locks to into your room, one to get inside Sargent, one to get into the hall and one to get into the room), but inside Sargent there are no elevators (which might not seem like such a big deal, but if you're on the 3rd, 4th, or 5th floor it can be a hassle), there's only one place to get food ( a vending machine on the first floor), and for some mysterious reason the 3rd floor (girls floor) smelled like feet (no joke). So basically, don't expect Sargent to be the Ritz, its a decent place, a bit loud (especially if you're room is near the bathroom, which mine was, but all in all it's C+ living.

the original purpose of this post was to amass pictures. thanks though.

You basically just described Willard, and every other dorm, so... don't take this too seriously. (Willard has an elevator, but you can't use it unless you have special permission.)

Willard's elevator is usually turned on a few days a week though, for anyone to use.

there are some pictures on the res college webpages. google "willard residential college" and "shepard residential college" and maybe some others
