If you want to sign your kid up for the SAT on a Mac, do yourself a favor and don't even bother until you have Google Chrome installed. I wasted the whole morning trying Safari, Firefox, and even IE through Parallels with no success. I hope this helps save someone from 3 calls to Collegeboard customer service.

I have a Mac, that I hate, but never had an issue uploading a photo to collegeboard for the SAT via Safari. Perhaps the issue isn’t Safari?

I haven’t had problems uploading via Safari, Chrome, Firefox, etc. on my Mac to CB. Perhaps it’s the format of the picture itself? Photos need to be in .jpg, .png or .gif format I’m sorry you had problems.

I had no problems using a Mac. The pictures need to have a certain number of pixels.

W2BEHome, I had the exact same problem on my MAC. Finally i emailed my D and she did it easily on her MAC. So there is something we don’t have installed.

It didn’t have anything to do with the photo, just so everyone knows. When I finally got it to work with Chrome, I used the same exact photo. The problem was that the upload window never opened normally. It was just a short narrow window with no browser or any other links or instructions. I have had success registering for the SAT and uploading photos on my Mac in the past for my older dd two years ago. I am assuming it is this new operating system we installed in November, but I could be wrong.

At first I thought I was just missing something or doing something wrong, but when my computer geek husband and very tech-savvy daughter had the same issue, I knew I was not completely losing it. I called cs at CB three times and each time got a completely different answer to my question/problem. 1) “Send a paper registration form.” 2) Can’t really remember what he said, but he was less than concerned or helpful. 3) Finally someone who seemed to have a clue suggested Google Chrome.

Anyway, I really just put this out there for anyone else who might be baffled by the same issue I had so that they could find the solution more quickly than I did. It would be nice if there was some sort of “help” text on the form to alert Mac users there might be a problem.
