I am a junior in high school. I have narrowed my college list down to these five schools. I live in Minneapolis/St Paul. I want a school with a sustainable environmental focus with a significant amount of vegetarian students. I would also like vegan food selections. Does anyone know about academic based scholarships at any of these schools? What is the "typical" student like? Do any of the schools stand out in the criteria i specified? Any info on the things I mentioned would be great!

Top 5 schools:

University of Minnesota-Morris(Morris, MN)

Lawrence University(Appleton, WI)

Luther College(Decorah,IA)

Gustavus Adolphus College(St. Peter, MN)

Northern Michigan University(Marquette, MI)

You should apply to the main campus of Minnesota(Twin cities) rather than morris. How bout these:

University of Wisconsin-Madison

University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign

University of Minnesota- Twin Cities

University of Michigan

Iowa State Univeristy

Ohio State University

Purdue University

We have visit a couple of the schools on your list and Lawerence was the only one I remember that might fit your needs. They have a student run garden and use the products in their cafeteria. From what I remember we thought they had the best food along with St.Thomas in St.Paul. We didn’t eat at the U of MN Twin Cities we felt the school was too large and left after the morning session.

Can you afford the OOS schools you have listed?
