I am a junior in high school and I am looking at University of Minnesota, Morris or Lawrence University in Appleton Wisconsin. I am a vegan and I am passionate about animals and the environment. I have an unweighted GPA of 4.0 and have taken the hardest possible classes that my high school offers. I am a full IB diploma candidate. I got an ACT score of 25. Does anyone have any input or info about either school and which would fit me better? Thanks!

Cost constraints and financial aid situation?

Intended or possible majors?

I would like to get academic scholarships and/or have a reasonable tuition(not $50,000). Both Morris and lawrence are reasonable for me. I plan on double majoring in environmental studies and spanish. Thanks for any info you can provide.

With a 4.0 GPA you may be able to get a lot of scholarship money for Lawrence. It depends really. They offered me 18,000 a year and my GPA was lower (but ACT of 33). They are also test optional so you don’t have to submit testing scores if you don’t want to since your grades are good. Lawrence has vegan options at every meal, how much you’d like it depends on you. They have a student run garden (called SLUG) that sells their vegetables and whatnot to the cafeteria and then the leftovers are composted back into the garden. SLUG also has an on campus house where the club members cook vegan/vegetarian food and eat together (some of the members live there). Everyone at Lawrence generally is very nice/friendly and the academics are well regarded.
