Urban "No Campus" Universities

I think the reason BU hasn't been really talked about is that the OP already identified it in her first post. The only reason I talked about NYU was to use it as a baseline to compare other schools with.

There is also Xavier in Cincinnati and Loyola in New Orleans. You can extrapolate as much on this thread as you wish, or conversely minimize it to a narrow description.....to the very unique setting that NYU offers. I think Fordham- Lincoln Center, BU and GWU are likely the best examples of truly urban large city type of schools that are not your typical campus setting.

nothing here, keep on moving lol

PACE University is in NYC as well! They have, what they call, a "vertical" campus!

Case Western Reserve

University of Cincinnati to some extent

Suffolk University in Boston had no campus and is in the heart of Beacon Hill. However, it does not have the best reputation.

Brown University has a "city feel".

Providence is a surprisingly great city with nice ethnic flavors.

University of Miami is in Coral Gables. What is the reputation for Suffolk ?

How about Harvard?

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (okay, WPI has a campus, but it's quite small and most kids live in the city).

Emerson College
MIT

I agree with CalCruiser on Fordham. While the Lincoln Center "campus" pretty much blends in with the urban landscape, the Rose Hill campus is clearly a college campus--a nice one, but I don't think that's what you're looking for.

You might also want to take a look at Pace and Manhattan Marymount.

goood call on emerson. i read through all these waiting for someone to mention it. you walk out of the dorms right into boston commons.

How about U of Arizona?

portland state university

Loyola's Lake Shore campus is urban and in great location (lake, ethnic restaurants, Evanston or downtown minutes away), but it's a residential area. If you walk out your dorm, you're greeted by McDonald's and people hanging out in front of their apartment buildings (or in my case, a drug rehab facility). It's not in the city. Not comparable to BU or NYU.

Eugene Lang!!!
