URGENT AP Question

This is very last minute so a quick reply is greatly appreciated.

I know that scoring well on the AP English test won't give me any direct course credit, but does it give me any advantage when it comes to choosing electives? I am a prospective English major just wondering if taking the AP English test has any value whatsoever.

Go to the Columbia English dept’s website.

And how in hell is this urgent?

lmao @ conorske…

And Ms./Mr. OP, please use google before asking such a silly question.

It’s probably urgent because the OP had an AP test payment deadline to meet. No need to be rude, although it’s true that this would be more easily/efficiently found on Columbia’s website or by contacting admissions.

OP hasn’t even been accepted to Columbia and therefore shouldn’t be worried about this. Not only is it not URGENT, but it’s a dumb question.

well my friend who was admitted early to columbia told me to ask people AP questions because apparently the school isn’t very clear on credit. and i need to sign up by tomorrow. thanks for the apathy. but i had a feeling columbia people were excessively proud…

Let’s all take a deep breath. I believe the message is, fundamentally, plan your time based on your personal goals, rather than whether a particular college, which you may or may not attend, might grant you credit for achieving a particular goal. If you attend Columbia, you will amass plenty of credits during your four years, with or without AP college credits.

We’re not Columbia people, but check each departmental site.
