Hello all,
I am a senior who is currently admitted to both the University of Miami and the University of Mass.- Amherst. I’m located in Rhode Island, and I have until May 1st, as most of you know, to decide on a school. I am super stuck! I unofficially declared as a biology major as a hope to follow a pre-med track while also studying Business and Spanish.
I will list my concerns for each school:
UMass:
I did not like the campus, however I enjoy the homey feel to it.
I am concerned with its academic / overall caliber in comparison to a UMiami
I am worried about lack of postgrad opportunities
Miami:
Very far from home, and plane tickets are costly.
I am worried that one school / biology program trumps the other in various ways but my research on the subject was inconclusive
I am concerned that at this school it would be more difficult to integrate socially (though, of course, the social aspect is less important than academics)
BOTH SCHOOLS WOULD COST ABOUT THE SAME
Which makes my decision all the more difficult. If any of you have any anecdotes / insight, it would be immensely appreciated, as I am having quite a rough time.
