Okay.
1) When are FAFSA Updates for UC Campuses due?
Not today right??

2) I didn't send in my GPA Verification form on time. In the eligibility factors for the Blue & Gold Opportunity, it doesn't say "on time" for the GPA Verification portion. Am I still qualified for Blue & Gold?

"Eligibility:
Be a California resident
Demonstrate income below $80,000 with financial need, as determined for federal need-based aid program
Be in your first four years as a UC undergraduate (first two for transfer students)
Meet other campus basic requirements for UC grant aid (for example, be enrolled at least half-time during the academic year, meet campus academic progress standards, not be in default on student loans, etc.)
Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 2 and provide any additional documentation campuses may request by the specified deadline.
Make sure your school submits a GPA verification form to the Cal Grant program, or download the form, have your school fill it out and send it to the California Student Aid Commission"

As far as I know, those deadlines are fairly strict. Yes, it does not say “on time” so that does leave it up to debate if it would still be considered acceptable or not. My assumption has always been (based on the precedence shown for adhering to deadlines) that it does mean that the complete Cal Grant application (FAFSA and GPA verification) must have been submitted on or before the March 2 deadline. Otherwise there’s little point to the qualification since, my understanding, is it is intended to ensure that the biggest aid opportunity for Californians has been exhausted before the school will dole out the additional funds to cover systemwide fees.

And just saw you posted while I was typing this. If the deadline is indeed being followed, then you are SOL for Blue&Gold. However, that doesn’t mean you won’t get generous aid, it just means you no longer have a chance for it to be guaranteed and that aid will first be given to those who submitted all required documents on time. You will have to wait and see what sort of package you are presented with.

Thanks Kender! That was really informative. I’ll just cross my fingers and deal with whatever does come of my FAFSA. Thanks again.

One last question… Do you have any idea when UC’s want our updated FAFSA’s in? I put “Will File” on mine, but my mom has three businesses and it probably won’t be until another week before we have them all done.

Ack, sorry, missed that you had asked that in your original post!

To be honest, I don’t know. My portal for UCSC always told me a deadline, but I never paid attention since I submitted my complete FAFSA with my taxes filed by March 2 the few times I have filed it. I would think there would be some time left, but I do not know for sure. The general UC website just lists March 2:
[University of California - Dates & deadlines](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/how-to-apply/dates-deadlines/index.html)
And nothing about an update deadline. I would probably either call each UC’s FA Office that you applied to or see if there is any information in the portals for each UC (I’m assuming you’ve been given access as this is how they release admission decisions). It’s better to be sure :)
