Hello everyone! I am a class 11 student from India. I study in a state board school. Now my education board is very stringent in marking system. Just for instance, not a single student in my entire city has scored above 90% in class 12. Heck, only a dozen or so in the entire STATE score that much. Here, the only relief is that although we score less, we have high percentiles. A friend of mine scored 87% last year and he was 99.75 percentile of the entire state (Total test takers: Probably 7,50,000). So, if I have a very high percentile (which means I did better than most of the test takers) but a comparatively low percentage, would that be a negative in my application? MY teacher is ready to mention all these facts in his letter of recommendation to the university…
