Hi,
I am currently a lower sophomore enrolled at City College of New York City.

My major is Computer Science and my GPA is 3.69

I am planning to transfer to a good engineering college(preferably SUNY) . I am living alone right now and i'd rather live in a dorm.

Which NEW YORK college do you recommend. It could either be for Computer Science or Computer Engineering, since I'd also like to change my major.

I was thinking of Stony Brook or Buffalo State University.
What do you think?

If you have other ideas please reply.
thanks.

Hey thanks for the replys. So which one do you think is better for Computer Enngineering/Science? SUNY Buffalo State University or SUNY Stony Brook?

adida, I don't think you can go wrong with either Stony Brook or SUNY Univeristy at Buffalo. Both have programs in both majors that you are looking at. It is just what you prefer. SUNY Buffalo has the D1 sports including football and 2 campuses within 10 minutes of each other. There is a shuttle that takes kids back and forth. I have heard positive on it from kids that go there. I don't know anyone currently at Stony, but I know of people that have looked at the school and liked it very much and who eventually applied (waiting to hear back). There is also a train station on or very near the campus with access to NYC. The other school you mentioned is SUNY Buffalo State and I believe they only have a computer science major, but no engineering major. Just double check though because I could be wrong. I believe that both Stony and University at Buffalo are both probably the stronger schools for your major and you would have a better overall experience at these 2 schools than at Buffalo State University. Best of luck.
