Hi, all. I've already visited USC once (this summer...fell in love with the campus, by the way :)), but I really want to the school when it's in session; I particularly want to see the actual film and screenwriting classes to help me choose which I might rather major in.

Would I be able to actually go inside these classes and watch from a distance? If I am able to, where would I get the schedule of classes so I know what day I should visit and at what time?

Please reply as soon as possible; I'd really like to visit this week so I can have a firmer idea of what major I want to apply to. Thanks in advance! :D

I’m sure you’d have no trouble finding a seat in a lecture class. Some of the smaller ones might be more difficult. But I imagine the professors would be very accommodating and wouldn’t mind. Your best bet is for a sympathetic film student to offer to let you shadow them for a day or give you access to class schedules.

Try calling the SCA office and ask if there are classes you can attend. Casper is iconic at USC, so that ^^ is a great suggestion. It will perhaps be easy to find a film analysis (i.e. critical studies) class to attend, but production might be a bit trickier. Since the classes tend to be hands-on, they often are a few hours long and may be less welcoming to an observer. But it won’t hurt to ask.
