<p>If I were an admissions officer, I'd be annoyed at an essay that long. They have to read so many, and then someone doubles the requirement. I would cut, and cut a lot.</p>

Sob sob, I just can't find any words to cut. It's very concise already.</p>
<p>Oh, bummer. Is there anywhere in the essay that is inconsequential, or unnecessary to the primary point? I'm sure they won't throw your application away due to an extra 410 words, but I don't think it'll help. Then again, I'm having my own essay problems, so I for dang sure can't judge :)</p>
<p>But if the essay's entertaining and interesting to read from beginning to end, then I guess it shouldn't be too much of a problem, right?</p>
