I am an international student.
Do I have to show money for the entire first year in ‘Certification of Finances document’ regardless of the financial aid I will get at the college or just the amount of money we currently have?
Your certification of finances must show, that you have enough money to cover a full year for ALL costs to attend the college. Beware that some schools require more than this.
This amount can include approved loans and already awarded college financial aid.
@happymomof1 doesn’t this certification of finances get completed once a student is accepted and has an institutional financial aid award?
Remember that Depauw is not need blind toward international students. This means that your ability to pay will be a factor in the admissions process. In addition, they do not meet 100% demonstrated need for accepted students.
merit based scholarships for international students are extremely competitive
I got a 1440 on SAT(Considering Depauw has 1370 as 75th percentile score) and applying ED . 4th place holder of World’s Largest Inter School quiz which involved 140,000 students. I was on a research project on Ferroelectric species. I have stellar grades.
Is that enough @thumper1
You need to contact the place you are applying to, and ask about the Certificate of Finances. Some don’t give aid to international applicants, and the C of F is necessary or the application won’t even be read.
