Rice is better for math. Significantly.

How so? WashU has placed their team in the top 10 for Putnam for some time now...no show of Rice.

s snack, I suppose you think Columbia is the best for math then?

also chinese, i plan to go to rice. rice has a much better undergrad environment. the school pays a lot of attention to undergrads and has a very strong math program. wash u is well known for the med school, i heard that other majors are pretty mediocre.

I guess you heard wrong. Having experience with students at both schools, I would absolutely not agree with you.

Wow, we're the same person...I'm deciding between Rice, WashU, and Middlebury as well (except I'm an English prospective major here)! I'm leaning toward Midd because of its amazing teachers and the tightly-knit community. But I definitely sense the fun-loving, mellow atmosphere from WashU too. Any insights would be appreciated!
