I need to submit my Princeton app really soon. I took the SAT twice last year and once Freshman year. Do I have to self-report all three of these or can I just report the most recent one which is a lot better? All of them were sent via CollegeBoard, obviously.
Also, on a side note, will it still reflect badly on me that I took the SAT more than twice if the other time was before Junior year (Freshman in this case)? I had heard that it didn't, but I'm curious.

Most schools prefer that you self-report the best score from each section over multiple test dates. Additionally, most schools only ‘officially’ consider the best individual score from each test date or the best combined score from a single test date.

Top universities like Princeton use the SAT more as a measuring stick than a subjective tool. If you meet a certain level (as defined by your upbringing, environment, and their standards) that part of the application is ‘checked off’ so to speak.

Bottom line: Don’t worry about it. It isn’t a huge deal.

Princeton wants to see all your test scores, and they’ll calculate your superscore. Don’t fret about the test taken in freshman year; many kids do that to get into a particular summer program and it’s meaningless.

Just to be clear, I did better the latest time in all sections than I did on the first 2. In other words, my “superscore” wouldn’t be higher. Still self-report all three?
