<p>there are no testing dates in the whole month of december in my country due to upcoming elections!..there aint any seats left in november either...there are seats in jan but somehow that feels a bit too late for me...so only option i can see is to give the test in another country in december!...so the thing is...is it possible to give the toefl in another country than my own home country?</p>

<p>yes it is possible to test in another country, just don't forget your passport, since it is required as an ID.</p>

<p>Well, you will be traveling to alien country just for TOEFL?! (Though, it is possible)
And, there is no problem with TOEFL scores reaching colleges in the month of JAN itself.
And TOEFL is only "recommended" by most of the universities, which is replaceable or can be dropped, if your SAT Reasoning score is 600 or 650+ (You have to check with the university you are applying to).

<p>I live in Austria, which is a member of the European Union and therefor and I don't need a passport to travel to the 26 other member countries:)</p>

<p>You can definitely take the TOEFL in a country other than the country of your citizenship. (If not, why would there be TOEFL test centers in the US?) Since Austria is a relatively small country, going abroad for the test shouldn't be too inconvenient.</p>
<p>I share your concerns about taking the TOEFL in January because that would mean that colleges would not get your scores until February, which might be too late...</p>

<p>Login to your ets/toefl profile and click on 'view orders'.there you will see everything that involves money between you and ets and obviously see the schools to which you already sent scores to.if u dont login to your email and search for anything toefl.if you took the toefl ibt its gonna take 5 days for them to process your score and 2 weeks after postage to arrive at your selected schools .but for the paper based thats just another story..lol.</p>
<p>you can take TOEFL at any time if you go to the US. There are plenty of Sylvan Prometric centers and they do walk-ins.</p>
