I am sending in something for a contest tomorrow (the postmark date is tomorrow!) and was wondering (since my thing is 21 words over the limit) if any of you have gone a bit over the word limit and still won. (BTW, if anyone would like to read my piece I would gladly pm it to you. I will NOT say what the contest is nor will I send it unless you sen me your actual email first (b/c I need a record in case plagiarism occurs.) K thanks!

bumpbumpbump

I don't think 21 words will be a big deal.

i can read it and try to cut out 21 words. or at least some. im really good at that.

email won't help

Let's see...if this is a national event, or even if it is just a local event, usually the extra words will not be judged (unless it states explicitly that overage will cause disqualification). What will probably happen is that the 21 words will not be looked at.

For example, if it says the limit is 400 words and you have 421, then they will only look and judge those first 400 words.

I will be happy to read it over for you. PM works well.
