URI Class of 2023 EA

Out of state. Just received acceptance packet in snail mail. No merit info. Have any out of state folks received merit info?

@JennD70 What were your stats?

It’s my daughter. I don’t know her stats off the top of my head. Wouldn’t there have been something in there indicating no merit if there was none?

DD has no updates on her portal yet. Anyone else?

@JennD70 My son received his letter in the mail today. He is out of state and also did not receive any merit information. Is that normal for out of state?

Son received his letter today. We are OOS received merit award of 10k. 3.7GPA 1130 SAT.

OOS D received letter today. Nursing major is specified along with $30,000 Centennial scholarship (4 yr total amt).

10k per year? @mattingly

Yes, 10k per year. Good luck to everyone still waiting.

@MAPAone what are her stats?

OOS son received $40,000 ($10K/year) University Scholarship. 3.3 GPA 1220 SAT. Undeclared Arts and Sciences.

$13,500 per year, in NJ. I was a little surprised, URI will cost more than UDel (out of state), Scranton and Quinnipiac.

3.2 GPA and 1130 SAT. Accepted OOS but no merit, normal for OOS??

Has anyone received an acceptance letter in CT?

Oh and stats are 1470 SAT, 34 ACT, w4.175 (our of 4.2 max), tons of UC’s.

Anxiously awaiting package in NH. Did they also include information on admitted students days?

Acceptance letter and Merit scholarship received Sat. here in NJ

@Mjkacmom I think that is the maximum OOS scholarship given. 13.5k a year has been the top OOS amount for the last four years at least. The top instate amount seems to be 6k a year. URI does end up with a high percentage of OOS students, 40%, many from NJ and NY. For sophomore year and up there is an opportunity to save money by getting an apartment “down-the-line” in Narragansett or better one of the apartments around the periphery of URI and then you just walk to school. Probably a 5k a year savings.

My oldest graduated from Rutgers and lived off campus for the last 2 years, and I have a 20 year old at TCNJ who moved off campus this year. Even paying $500 a month with a 12 month lease (and many roommates) it is a significant savings. I’m going to have Dd research the off campus options for all of her possible choices.

Received the packet today. Daughter received an offer of $13.5K/year. Around a 3.7 weighted GPA/33 ACT (superscore).
